Screen Noise Generator

M4L Audio Plug-in

Screen Noise Generator is a Max for Live device built on the visual programming language Jitter, originally developed for Fluid, a live interactive audio-visual performance.

The device generates a range of visual effects by distorting on-screen pixel data in real time. It features three built-in noise algorithm layers that can operate in parallel, enabling complex and layered visual textures. The final layer can also be switched to feedback mode, allowing recursive visual transformations and temporal accumulation.

Screen Noise Generator can receive data such as MIDI and OSC through various devices. It can be linked with controllers, motion sensors, etc. It is designed to enable audio-visual interactive work by linking the same data values with other midi effectors and audio plug-ins using Ableton.

Screen Noise Generator has three main knobs: gain, speed, and feedback mode speed. In addition, it is made possible to manipulate noise type, zoom scale, resolution, feedback mode switch, etc., and various setting values can be preset so that they can be easily manipulated according to the desired timing.
